Elizabeth South is a world class singer, songwriter, and performer. She pours her heart into her songwriting and singing. Her music is both healing and uplifting. Her voice has been described as beautiful, soothing, and angelic. Elizabeth has been a performer on stage most of her life and has attended prominent schools such as NYU for musical theater and Tisch School of the arts. She also received a degree in Music Therapy and a Masters of Art in Teaching from UNC-Chapel Hill. She is also currently a preschool music and elementary drama teacher.
Elizabeth South just released an album called “The Mysteries of Our Minds,” which is now available on her website and iTunes along with her new iPhone/iPad app. Her single, “Have Faith,” has gained attention by inspirational radio stations around the country and has hit the Billboards for most adds on numerous occasions.
She recorded her album in Nashville with producer Billy Smiley (founder of the rock group White Heart and producer for Steven Curtis Chapman, Newsboys, etc.) and recorded with some of the finest musicians and engineers such as: Blair Masters – keyboards (Casting Crowns, Mercy Me, Michael English’s “Mary Did You Know”), Dennis Holt – drums (Taylor Swift, etc.), Matt Pearson – bass (Michael W. Smith, Natalie Grant), Scott Dente – acoustic guitar and Christine Dente - vocals (Out of the Grey), Rick Florian – vocals (lead singer of White Heart for various hit songs such as “Desert Rose”), John Catchings – cello (Phil Keaggy, Michael Card), George Cocchini – Electric Guitar (DC Talk), Gordon Kennedy - sitar (White Heart & co-writer “Change the World” for Eric Clapton), Brennan Smiley – electric guitars (Charity Von, Diane di Stasio), Greg Hagan – electric guitars (Little Big Town, Katinas), Terry White (vocals), Billy Smiley – acoustic guitar and vocals, Bill Whittington – mixing engineer (Vanessa Williams, Amy Grant, and Faith Hill).
